Additional Conference Session Announced

Friday, April 1, 2017

SALT LAKE CITY - Members of the LDS church will be getting an additional two hours of inspiring messages from church leaders beginning this weekend at the 186th Annual General Conference, President Youknowho of the third quorum of the Seventy announced early Monday morning. "Church leaders feel that due to the increase of new members, there is a strong need for additional instruction for members worldwide."

The announcement came three and a half years after President Thomas S. Monson declared that the age of missionaries would be lowered from 19 to 18 for men, and 21 to 19 for women. “Church growth is exploding, and we need to teach these new members how the church works.” Elder Youknowho stated at the press conference from Church headquarters in Salt Lake City. “We want these new members to be stronger than Hulk Hogan, and we feel like this will help them achieve that much quicker.”

The new session of conference will be held on Sunday evening, beginning at 6pm MST, after which a large “munch and mingle” will be held on the grounds at Temple Square. The Provo Utah Grandview South Stake Relief Society will be providing funeral potatoes, chocolate chip cookies, and of course, Jello. Officials in charge of the post-conference activities have not publicly made a statement on the color of the Jello, or what other goodies it may contain inside, but simply said, it would be “very yummy.”

“We hope that all members, old and new, will make an effort to gather to learn and grow. We are going to try new things at this session of conference including a talk given by a primary boy or girl, and maybe even open the conference up for the sharing of testimonies.” It is still unclear the exact plans and schedule of the additional session of conference, but we’re sure that if it really happened, it would be way, way awesome.
