This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. ~ John 15:12

Artist's Note:
It is an enduring theme for followers of Christ that except [we] be converted, and become as little children, [we] shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 18:3). In this painting I wanted to portray the comfort of the two children in Christ's presence. Christ's red robe is meant to symbolize his royal birth. He was the only begotten of the Father, the Son of the living God. His humility is apparent as he went among the people. I wanted to show him in this domestic, slightly rural scene, happy to teach and comfort these ordinary children. ~Simon Dewey
