Physical sets of scriptures are important treasures that our customers love giving as gifts. Some of our best memories have been helping our customers around the world create a keepsake they'll love for years to come.
However, the current global pandemic has impacted our supply chain significantly. We want you to be informed about how our inventory of scriptures has been affected. Keep reading to learn how the supply chain works and what that means for you as a consumer.
TLDR: The supply of scriptures has been severely impacted by COVID-19. Expect any scriptures to take a minimum of 3-5 weeks to arrive. The good news? Recent signs give us hope that our supply of scriptures will normalize soon. We are happy to answer any questions you have about your order at any time.
Ordering from LDS Distribution
LDSBookstore.com is a small, family-owned business. We order all of our scriptures from LDS Distribution, the official manufacturer of the Church. Before COVID-19, we would receive shipments of scriptures once a week, allowing us to personalize your scriptures and ship them out quickly.
However, LDS Distribution has been unable to fill our orders completely since March 2020. For example, if we send an order for 50 Quadruple combinations, we may only receive 10. Unfortunately, there have been many weeks where we haven't received anything at all.
Filling Orders
When we do receive any shipment of scriptures, we fulfill the oldest orders first. Going back to our example, if we received 10 quadruple combinations out of our order of 50, we will fill the 10 oldest orders first.
We remain committed to shipping out high-quality products as fast as possible.
Why Keep Scriptures Live?
A few people have asked why we keep our scriptures available for purchase on our website when our supply chain is disrupted. Very simply, the majority of our customers want to be in the scripture queue and are willing to wait.
We try to be very clear on all of our products how long it will take. While this fluctuates, we are fast to update products with the estimates we have from LDS Distribution. We are happy to answer any questions you have about your specific order.
I Need My Scriptures Now!
We recognize how frustrating it is to wait for scriptures. We're frustrated too, but we recognize the hundreds of employees of our vendors who are working as hard as they can to get our scriptures to us. We support them in being safe and doing what they need to do and we hope you will too.
There are a few options you have if you want scriptures now.
- Call & switch out your type of scripture set. Regular quadruple combinations are the most popular scripture type, which means they are the hardest to get in stock. If you're willing to switch out your type of scriptures for another we do have in stock, we can get your order sent out much more quickly.
- We're unique in offering misimprinted scriptures. These scriptures are generally brand new scripture sets that are nearly perfect but have a mistake in engraving or was never picked up by a customer. If you're willing to see a different name or symbol on your scriptures, we're able to offer these scriptures at a steep discount.
- Our personaliztion options are unique to LDSBookstore.com. We use the latest technology and methods to personalize your scriptures. If you are able to purchase a set of scriptures elsewhere, you can bring them in to our Orem office to personalize. We can also personalize any item shipped to us. Give us a call to learn more.
