As a singular instrument in the Lord's hands I can only imagine that there would have been many occasions even in a single day where the prophet Joseph Smith would have received moments of inspiration, revelation and understanding. Just as the morning light streams through a nearby window into the face of this great man of vision, I hoped people might look at this man and feel the need to be still and know that God is God. I hoped to achieve some authenticity with this piece by using some furniture and other items from Nauvoo that I was fortunate enough to photograph and I would like to gratefully acknowledge the work of sculptor DJ Bawden who has spent many years researching the prophet's likeness. ~ Simon Dewey
