Journal margins are not on both sides of the text. One the left side of the page, the margin is on the left (no journaling or note taking can be done with scriptures on the right margin closest to the center binding). On the right side of the page, margins are on the right side so no journaling can be made on the left margin.

 

Great product! I love how thick the pages are and how much room is in the margins for writing.
